Summer Camp General Conditions

1. Inscription and payment

  1. The registration form must be dated, signed and sent back by the parents or legal representative of the child who wishes to take part in the camp. The participants who enrol for 2 weeks and more can choose different types of lessons, as long as they choose one per week. A nonrefundable deposit corresponding to a % of the total price of the stay is due in accordance with the cancellation rules from article 2. The inscription is valid only after Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA has received the signed registration form. After receipt of the registration papers by the school, the entire journey fees are due, according to the article 2.
  2. After receipt of the entire journey fees, Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande issues an invitation letter to foreign students who require to apply for a visa, delivered by email. Should the Embassy require the original document, a fee of CHF 150.- will be charged to cover the DHL shipment. 

2. Cancellation

If you cancel your registration before the beginning or during the camp, an amount corresponding to a certain percentage of the total price of the stay has to be paid: - up to 31 days before the beginning 30% - 30-16 days before the beginning 50% - 15-0 day(s) before the beginning or during the camp 100% For whatever purpose it may serve, we suggest that you take out a cancellation insurance in your country of residence. Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA reserves the right to cancel any of the sessions mentioned in its leaflet due to insufficient number of participants or for any other reason at its discretion. Should that arise, Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA will offer its participants the possibility to choose another session or to be fully reimbursed; the enforcement of the principles mentioned under article 3, paragraph 2, remains however reserved. 

3. Responsibilities

Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA assumes responsibility for carrying out the summer camp as per the program detailed in the leaflet. Nevertheless, Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA is not responsible for events controlled by third parties such as, among others, public transportation companies or professional guides. Consequently, claims should be made directly to those third parties. If a registration is made through an independent agent, complaints regarding these services should be made directly to this party. Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA is not responsible for events beyond its control such as, among others, natural disasters, bad weather, political instability, riots, strikes, closing of airports, technical problems. If Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA decides that the summer camp has to be cancelled because of events beyond its control, Ecole Nouvelle has the right to deduct the costs already invested from the amounts refunded to the participants. 

4. Parental responsibilities 

The parents or legal representative of the child registered to the camp assume the full financial responsibility for damages caused to facilities, equipment, materials or any object belonging to or rented by Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA. The parents or legal representative of the child registered are responsible for ensuring that the child has a valid passport and any necessary visas and vaccinations. Otherwise, they have to meet the repatriation costs of the child they have registered. 

5. Health, accident and civil responsibility insurances

Health, accident and civil responsibility insurances are compulsory. In the absence of these insurances, Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA declines all responsibility for costs of this nature. 

6. Theft insurance

There is no insurance against theft. Money and valuables should be handed to the camp director for safe keeping. It is recommended not to bring jewellery or objects of value. 

7. Civil responsibility of Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA

Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA holds a civil responsibility insurance policy through the company “Vaudoise”. This policy settles claims arising from legal liability of Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA to the participants or to third parties for accidental injuries or accidental damages to the property. The maximum amount insured is CHF 5’000’000 per incident.

8. Behaviour of participants

During their stay, participants must conform to the rules and regulations of Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA. Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA reserves the right to send the participants back to their home during the stay if they do not respect these rules and regulations. In such cases, Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA has the right to keep the entire registration fee.

9. Publicity materials

Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA reserves the right to use all photographs or images of participants, as well as work completed by participants or other persons, for its future publicity purposes. The registration of their child to the camp implies for the parents the approval of the use of the photographs or images of him/her made during the camp, without any time limits nor compensation.

10. Medical treatment

In case of illness, accident or lesion suffered by the child, Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA reserves the right to take any action considered necessary for the preservation of the well-being and health of the child. This contract authorises Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA to take any useful action to assure medical treatment of the child, in the event of illness, accident or lesion. The parents or legal representative of the child are responsible for all costs of medical treatment.

11. Applicable law and jurisdiction

The contract is established between the parents or legal representative of the registered child and Ecole Nouvelle de la Suisse Romande SA, a company registered with the Swiss Chamber of Commerce. This contract is governed by Swiss law, apart from the Swiss law on international private act. In case of litigation, the competent tribunal is in Lausanne/Switzerland.
